The Foundation was founded in 1989 by a group of church members who had a vision of giving back to the community through a grant based program.
All members of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church are also members of the Foundation. The Foundation is led by a 14 - member board.
From our humble beginnings we have grown our annual grants from $500to $55,000 (2026 budget). Grants are funded through a portion of the earnings from our endowment. Since inception, our endowment has grown to $1,000,000+ and we have distributed over $657,000 in grant awards.

The Mission of the Foundation is to extend the reach of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church by supporting deserving programs, projects, and needs at the Church, throughout the wider Twin Cities community, nationally, and internationally.
